Open .3ds, .lwo and .lws files on Windows 10 and 11

3D Studio and LightWave models files come from Autodesk 3D Studio, NewTek LightWave (1990 to 2010). Filixir opens them without the original program. Opened by converting to glTF on the fly. Not yet on ARM PCs.

How to open one

  1. Download Filixir. It's free for Windows 10 and 11 and installs without an administrator password.
  2. Double-click your .3ds file, or right-click it and choose Open with › Filixir. You can also drag it onto Filixir.
  3. Look through it in Filixir, then save it in the format you want. Your original file is never changed.
