Open .ogv, .ogg, .opus and similar files on Windows 10 and 11

Ogg and other open formats files come from Open-source players (2000 to today). Filixir opens them without the original program. Play them and save video as MP4.

How to open one

  1. Download Filixir. It's free for Windows 10 and 11 and installs without an administrator password.
  2. Double-click your .ogv file, or right-click it and choose Open with › Filixir. You can also drag it onto Filixir.
  3. The first time, Filixir offers to download its free media add-on (the VLC engine) from its makers. It takes a minute and only happens once.
  4. Look through it in Filixir, then save it in the format you want. Your original file is never changed.
