Open .qxd files on Windows 10 and 11

QuarkXPress 3 and 4 document files come from QuarkXPress (1990 to 2000). Filixir opens them without the original program. Old print layouts saved as PDF. Not yet tested with real files.

Filixir can open these, but we're still testing it with real files. If yours doesn't open, send it to hello@filixir.app and we'll use it to improve Filixir.

How to open one

  1. Download Filixir. It's free for Windows 10 and 11 and installs without an administrator password.
  2. Double-click your .qxd file, or right-click it and choose Open with › Filixir. You can also drag it onto Filixir.
  3. The first time, Filixir offers to download its free documents add-on (the LibreOffice engine) from its makers. It takes a minute and only happens once.
  4. Look through it in Filixir, then save it in the format you want. Your original file is never changed.
