Open .wlmp files on Windows 10 and 11

Movie Maker project files come from Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 and 2012 (2009 to 2017). Filixir opens them without the original program. Rebuilds the whole edit (video clips with trims and speed, photos, titles, captions, music, narration, fades and transitions), finds files that have moved, and saves it as an MP4 video.

How to open one

  1. Download Filixir. It's free for Windows 10 and 11 and installs without an administrator password.
  2. Double-click your .wlmp file, or right-click it and choose Open with › Filixir. You can also drag it onto Filixir.
  3. Look through it in Filixir, then save it in the format you want. Your original file is never changed.
